I've been in knitting and crocheting for as long as I can. And now my passion has turned into something bigger. Something that brings inspiration and joy, not only to me, but also to the many people around the world who follow my work.
A sea story book about the sea and friendship. And since my relationship with Malmö, Sweden is so strong, it's no surprise that I decided to shoot here, on the waterfront in the city's Rypersborg district, for this book.
The book is divided into multiple sections and contains 13 modern designs for home decor, accessories, blankets, and clothes. Hopefully, the mosaic stitch patterns shown here will encourage you to use them in other projects as well.
All motifs use the inlaid mosaic technique without stitches. Although mosaic designs sometimes seem complicated, they are easy to make. Only basic crochet stitches are used: yarn, single and double crochet, double mosaic crochet (American terminology, stitch guide is provided in the book).
The book is inspired by the sea and all projects use the soft, muted shades of Scheepjes threads. Although each pattern is designed and written with specific yarns in mind, mosaic stitch patterns can easily be adapted to a crocheter's width, height, weight, and size. Explanations on how to get back into different types of projects are provided in the Tips and Techniques chapter, along with instructions and additional information about counters and locks.
The templates come with line-by-line (or round-by-round) instructions along with the graphic squares, where all points in both places on the tiles are marked with an X. Detailed information on how to follow the maps is also provided in this book.
The Sea Story book was printed on premium paper mat in the Czech Republic.
