The title should really say ... "A friendly memory for most, not a very friendly memory for some."The last few months I have received several messages from other crocheters. They tell me that different people use my photos for profit.
Especially this Hello Kitty. I think you should start using a watermark to prevent it from being copied and stored.
Some crocheters who want to make money take this photo and post it on their website or online store.
With that in mind, I decided to explain my policy regarding my models and photos.
I authorize the sale of items made from the models found here.
I want you to call me if you sell items made in my own style.
I do not authorize the use of any of my photos.
It's private and it's illegal to use any image for personal gain or use that is not yours.
I'm going to start closing photos and watermarking some photos.
I will report anyone using my photo and not delete it when prompted.
I spent the extra time taking amazing photos ... so if that's why I stole it, I'll give you some tips I used ... for those who may not know yet.
If you want amazing images for your site:
Do not take photos at night.
Do not use the flash ... it spoils the original color
Always use natural light, but not direct sunlight
Get rid of background clutter
Use neutral colors behind colored goods
Take your photos outdoors or in a room with lots of natural light
A good photo depends on the author, not the camera (you can use the phone and take a good photo with enough light)
Again, do not use the flash.
And of course just use your photos ... Never steal a photo or think it's okay or the person will never see it because they always will.
Of course, I do not care that my photos are on social media, as long as they link to my website and not someone else's.
A bit FYI for others, there are people who use my photos and at least 4 or 5 other crochet / designer photos to their advantage. He refused to take a picture of me even after I asked four times. I tried to be nice.

He also has a Facebook page called LooptyLoopz. It is currently disabled. I did not mean to stop you from owning a store, just not to use the hard work of others to your advantage.
There are some pictures I recognize from other crocheters ... striped button gloves and thing 1 / thing 2 hats ... two that I remember seeing there.
I told him twice I would blog about this and give him a few weeks to fix it (but he did not).
I hate posting bad stuff here, but I'm not okay with that. I spend a lot of time preparing my photos and I do not appreciate people stealing because they do not take time to take good photos.
