A Memorial

I haven't been able to write a blog or blog post in a long time. 2017 has been a tough year so far. I was thinking about writing a post recently, and I keep telling myself I have nothing to say. Instead of talking about fabric or woven designs, I'm going to do some personal stuff. This letter will be in my brother's memory.

On February 5, 2017, my 34-year-old brother tragically passed away. His three sons, his girlfriend, our parents, a sister, me and many other relatives and friends remained.

It's a daily struggle. Sin is hard to win (for everyone). I would like to call, stay tuned. This is the hardest part. The only thing I can wish for is peace of mind for all of us who are struggling right now.

Our last photo together

Mostly I worry about my mother, her friend and my sister. Death changes us forever. I hope it gets less gross over time. I deal with death regularly, but seeing a loved one leave at such a young age is devastating.

I think of the happy times in the past for her children.

One of my favourites

He was a music lover, but now I don't listen to much music.

He loved UNC basketball...we shared it. We are both big fans of Carolina. I watch the matches and think how happy I would be if they made it to the end of this year. Walking in heels!

I want to see in himself what we are all for: to give so much to this world, the people he left behind.

Depression can be a silent killer. Participate in the lives of those who are struggling. Call more often, visit more often. Feelings of guilt and remorse are a heavy burden on others.
