A Memorial

I haven't been able to write or post a blog for a long time. 2017 has been difficult so far. I've been thinking about writing an article lately and I keep telling myself I don't have anything important to say. Instead of talking about crochet or knitting projects, I'm going to take it a little personally. This post will be a memory of my brother.

On February 5, 2017, my 34-year-old brother tragically passed away from this world. He left behind three children, his girlfriend, our parents, our sister, myself and many other family members and friends.

It's a daily struggle. It's hard to face the blame (everybody). I wish I could have called and stayed longer. This is the hardest part. All I hope for is peace of mind for me and for all who are fighting now.

What worries me the most are my mother, my girlfriend and my sister. Death changes us forever. I hope it gets less bad with time. I often work around death, but to see a loved one grow up so young... it's devastating.

In the past I think of happy times and his children.

One of my favourites

He was a music lover and I don't listen to much music these days.

He also loved UNC basketball... something we shared. We're both big Carolina fans. I watch the games and think how happy I would be if they could go to the end this year. Let's go in heels!

I wish he would see within himself what we can all do and what we can all do. He had so much to offer this world and the people he left behind.

Depression can be a silent killer. Participate in the lives of those in trouble. Call more, visit more and stay. Guilt and remorse weigh heavily on the bereaved.
