A Memorial

For a long time I couldn't write a blog or blog post. 2017 has been a tough year so far. Recently I was thinking of writing an article, and I keep telling myself I have nothing to say. Instead of talking about knitting or knitting patterns, I'm going to be a little more personal. This letter will be in my brother's memory.

On February 5, 2017, my 34-year-old brother tragically passed away. He left three children, his girlfriend, their parents, his sister, me and many other relatives and friends.

It's a daily battle. Guilt is hard to get over (for all of us). I would like to call more and be there. This is the hardest part. All I can hope for is peace of mind for myself and everyone else who is struggling right now.

What worries me the most is my mother, her friend and my sister. Death changes us forever. Hope it becomes less rough over time. I regularly work to die, but seeing a loved one leave at such a young age... is simply devastating.

I used to be a music lover and can't listen to a lot of music these days.

I loved UNC basketball...that's what we share. We are both big Carolina fans. I watch the matches and wonder how happy I would be if they went until the end of this year. Come to heels!

I would like to see for myself what we can all do, and what we have all done. He had so much to offer this world, the people he left behind.

Depression can be a silent killer. Participate in the lives of those in need. Call more, visit more and be present. Feelings of guilt and remorse are a heavy burden on others.
