This weekend I improved my turning pattern, practiced my golf, watched the Super Bowl and made this new Ireland cap. I got a lot of messages about the owl hat, so I wanted to add details about it with various pictures.
I made many of these hats, but none for Ireland. So I decided that what I really needed to do was learn how to do it right. It actually started as a pig hat, but turned into an owl because the roses ran out. He's not a pig, but he still loves it. He has a pig hat on his head, so I think I'll have to make one anyway.

For this, of course, I expanded it.
I also enlarged the eyes by adding two circles. The bigger the hat, the bigger the eyes should be.
Eyes (I used blue for rounds 1 and 2, then white for rounds 3-5)

After adding the eyes to the hat, I added the eyebrows. I did an RLS around the 16th century. look at the picture.

Repeat drops, ending with a dot. Finish by leaving the tail long enough to sew.
I also changed the edges. I wanted two colors around the edge and a fuller look. I recently had a few remarks with questions about how to organize and complete projects. Basically, for edges, I always add a circle of the same color before changing the contrast color. If you change the contrasting color of the edges (such as the edges of the ears), the edges will not be as sharp as possible.
Then I added an extra rounded border for this hat in blue. I worked on the back loop to make the pink and blue combination neater (is that a word?)
In addition to keeping your face clean, try to spend a lot of time on your eyes and nose. When sewing, work just below the first stitch of the hat so that the back is neat. You will not participate in the project. And if I'm not happy with my face, I'll do it again until I feel like it.
