Basket Burnout
I've done three more this week... I'm tired
Several weavers asked me if it would make a big difference if they used an M or N hook instead of my preferred L hook.
So here is the result...
The little one on the left is made with an L-shaped fork.
Between the M and the hook
N flatten it with a fork
You can really see the difference above. n. Hook and L. hook. I still love the L. The little basket is very solid and doesn't sag or move. It is so narrow that it can almost stand on the handle (I inflate it a little).
I don't really like how the other two are shaped to look in the image...so I suggest El Hook.
I'm doing it a little differently. I used an N hook and added 6 more stitches to the body to make the shape more oval.
Another hit to four
Another note:
To answer another question ... When knitting in a circle like this basket or hat, remember that there is always a right and wrong direction. Easy to carry baskets or hats when making. Note the difference in the appearance of the seams.
When knitting, keep in mind that your stitches always face you when you're on the right side.
Most of the baskets I've seen have already gone astray. If you take a look at the second image of this article, you will see the difference between the inside and outside of the basket. When you're done, look at the top of the last row of stitches, not the inside. You may even realize that you flipped the plane by mistake.
Hope this helps answer some questions :)
