Basket Burnout
Made three more this week...got burned
A few knitting needles asked me if it made a big difference to use an M or N hook instead of my favorite hook.
So the results...
Made with the smaller L-hub on the left side
Middle M and with a bang
He kicked N on the right side
You can really see the difference above. Grep N and hook L. I still prefer L. The smaller basket is strong enough not to sit and move. It's so tight it almost fits inside your gloves (they are a bit puffy).
I just don't like how the other two have to be shaped to look like the picture...so I recommend L. Hook.
I proceeded a little differently. I used an N crochet and added 6 more stitches to the body to make the shape more oval.
Another quarter kick
Another note:
To answer another question...when you hit circles like those baskets or those hats, remember there's always a good side and a bad side. It is easy to turn over when making a basket or a hat. Notice the change in the appearance of the seams.
When knitting, remember that your stitches are always in front of you when they are from the right side.
Many baskets I have seen have been returned. If you look at the second photo of this item, you can see the difference between the inside of the basket and the outside. When finished, the top of the last circumferential seams should be turned to the side, not inwards. It's a great way to tell if you've accidentally knocked over the trash can.
Hope this helps answer some questions :)
