A reader asked me for a pattern for a herringbone scarf that I was still working on.

Hook size G or H (hook H will make the scarf bigger and wider)

Row 1: Sc from hook to 4th ch. But the next 7 f. Skip the next 2 chains, sc in the next 7 chains. (sc, ch 1, sc) to the next ch, sc to the next 7 ch. Do not knit the next 2 air loops, sc in the next 7 ch, 2 sc in the last ch. Route
Row 2: ch 3 (calculated as sc). But the first g. But in the next 7 sts, skip 2 sts, and in the next 7 sts, (a, 1 ch, a) in the next st (what 1 ch will do), and in the next 7 sts, skip 2 sts, and in the next 7 Art. 2 But turn to the last loop (this is the kitty from the previous 3rd row).
