Chunky Crocheted Basket Pattern
Finally posted a crochet pattern. Thanks for all the comments and emails. I hope you enjoy the finished model and project as much as I do. (Scroll down to see a large basket pattern)
Ingredients
3 very large skeins of yarn (I used Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Fast in Linen)
Hook size L (8.0 mm)

A small note on the material:
I would recommend using a very large one to create a hard or strong texture. If you are using smaller threads, you will need to knit 3 or more threads together.
Do not use a larger hook. The seams must be tight so that the basket is rigid and stays upright. Work fairly tight (but be careful not to hurt your hands too much). My next basket will be made from lined hemp (the thick one you can find at Walmart). This material really kills hands. But this is the strongest one you can use.

Hint: they tie two strands of yarn together.
Don't turn around at the end of each round. I do every round. You can work in a continuous spiral if you prefer to remove stitches. (If you're using the seamless version, I recommend working bottom stitches, then knitting the body in continuous stitches or in a spiral, marking the first stitch as you go.)

Row 2: 2 dcs in each st. Join Mk. (16 HDCs)
Row 3: Ch 2, ch in same st, ch in next st, (ch 2 in next st, ch in next st) approx. join mc (24 hours)
Row 4: Ch 2, purl in same st, purl in next 2 sts, (p 2 in next st, purl in next 2 sts) approx. join mc(32hc)
Row 5: Ch 2, purl in same st, purl in next 3 sts, (p 2 in next st, purl in next 3 sts) approx. join mc (40hdc)
Row 6: Ch 2, purl in same st, purl in next 4 sts, (p 2 in next st, purl in next 4 sts) approx. join mc (48hdc)
The next circle will be the first row of the basket body. They will work for any hdc.
Row 7:1 ch, sc below the line or edge behind the first loop of the previous row. (The half double crochet has a line or groove at the back of the stitch.) You are working under this line or comb, not in a regular loop.
This leaves two stitch loops.
We make a seam that separates the bottom and body of the basket
Keep running sc around. Join MS.
Row 8: Ch 2, purl in next st and in each st around. join mk
Row 9: Ch 1, work in back st only, sc in same st and in each st around. join mk
10th row: ch 2, p in the next loop and in each loop around. join mk
Row 11: Ch. 1. Sc in the same loop and in each loop approx. join mk
Row 12: Ch 2, purl in next st and in each st around. join mk
Row 13: Ch 1, works in back st only, sc in same st and in each st around. join mk
You made a pen in round 14.
14th row: ch 2, HT in the next 8 sts. 7 ch., skip the next 5 tbsp. Hdc in the next 19 points. 7 ch., skip the next 5 tbsp. Hdc in the next 10 points. join mk
Row 15: ch, sc in same st and next 8 sts. Crochet 8 sc under ch 7 space (do not knit in st). SC at the next 19 points. Work 8 sc under the 7th dc in the next 10 sts.

I made the basket bigger... I prefer the larger size (I have attached a photo for the larger basket)
You will increase one round down.
Rounds 1-6: see instructions above.
Rnd 7: Ch 2, HDC along the same path. Hdc at the next 5 points. (2 hours in the next st, 5 hours in the next st) around, join st st. (56 HDCs)
Row 8: Under the line or comb in tr, work sc in each st in a circle. This loop creates a seam (described above)
I added 3 rows to the body of the basket for the largest size. (If you'd like more detailed instructions on how to start and join each round, see each round's details for smaller baskets.)
Round 9: loop hdc putan
Lap 10: SC corner
Row 11: Turn only from sc to purl.
Round 12: hdc rotasi rotation
Lap 13: SC corner
Round 14: loop from putara hdc
Lap 15: SC corner
Row 16: Sc in back st only.
Row 17: Ch 2, ch in the next 9 sts, ch 9, skip 8 sts, ch in the next 20 sts, ch 9, skip the next 8 sts, ch in the next 9 sts with mn.
Row 18: Round st, work 10 dc under spaces ch 9 (not in every st). Participate and you're all set.
