It took a while to post this model because I was very picky about the pictures.

Well, now to the good stuff. Here's how it works

I got 3 plies of burlap (140 yards) from Dollar General (I know) for a dollar each... I bought 2

5s or 4 rows = 2 inches / 5 cm.

Note: Begin each row with the second round, which is the first round.

Start working from the sides. The right side will always face you while you work. I've noticed that this can be confusing for those posting photos on the right. For this bowl, we're going to keep it simple, but we won't look back until we get to the last trick.

For the sides I used the same technique I used for the other baskets I put online. On the next row, knit wrong side under the loop.

This creates a seam separating the bottom and sides.

Row 8: Turn left at the end of each street and work DC on each street in the round. to join.

Rows 9-10: repeat row 8.

Row 11: P for previous row, sc in 12 sts, sc 6, skip next 5 sts, sc in next 23 sts, sc 6, skip next 5 sts, sc in next 11 sts. Join.

Now turn the bowl over. The last row will work in reverse to the ks. To do this, you'll be working on a lathe to your right...upside down, basically.

Row 12: P 1, P 11, turn 7 sts under the ch-6-space, crochet 23 sts in the next 23 sts, P 7 sts under the ch-6-space, P 1 st in the last 12 sts.

Complete and braid the ends.
