Our Visit to an Alpaca Farm

Last week we were at Peaceful Heart Alpacas in Fancy Gap, Virginia. This is an alpaca farm with a wool shop. I love this photo and had to share it first.

First we went to the shop, where we met one of the owners. In one of the shop halls, natural fibers and alpaca yarn from the farm are sold.

Another room in the shop is filled with alpaca floss from The Alpaca Store and Plymouth Yarn (not farm alpaca).

I thought the Irish had a great time, they couldn't wait to get out and see the alpacas.

And finally we're out

Aren't they great? Look at this beautiful brunette... I can't remember all the names.

Alpacas are very curious. They don't mind being stroked and petted, but kissed. I also find that alpacas only have lower teeth...no upper teeth...very interesting

The black guy downstairs is Maximus... I remember his name. He was attracted to kiss Irish hair. They are cute animals. I think there are 45 to 50 alpacas on the farm.

I think the Irish prefer goats...they are their size. I love taking them to new places to experience new things.

After leaving the farm we decided to head to Boone for some shopping and a bite to eat. We passed part of the Blue Ridge Parkway. We love going into the mountains in winter... the view below from one of the observation decks. (I really wish I had my camera)
