Our Visit to an Alpaca Farm

Last week we were at Peaceful Heart Alpacas in Fancy Gap, Virginia. This is a small farm with a yarn shop. I just liked this photo and I had to share it first.

First we went to the store where we met the owner. In one of the shops you can find natural fibers and threads made from grown alpaca.

Other storage locations include The Alpaca Store and Plymouth Yarn (not from the alpaca farm) filled with alpaca threads.

I think Ireland is having a great time, can't wait to get out and see Alpaca.

Aren't they just precious? Look at the beautiful chocolates... I can't remember their names.

Alpacas are very curious. They don't mind being petted and rubbed, but they will kiss. I also learned that alpacas only have bottom teeth...no top teeth...very interesting

Black bottom - Maxim ... I remember his name. He was drawn to the smell of Irish hair. They are very polite animals. I believe the farm has 45 to 50 alpacas.

I think the Irish prefer goats...they are her size. I love taking it to new places to experience new things.

We left the farm and decided to go shopping and knitting. We drove a bit on the Blue Ridge Parkway. In winter we like to hike in the mountains... The view down opens from a viewpoint. (I really want to have a camera)
