Our Visit to an Alpaca Farm
Last Sunday we went to the peaceful heartland of the alpacas in Fancy Gap, Virginia. This is a wired alpaca farm. I just liked this photo and had to share it first.
Another room in the store is filled with alpaca fibers from the alpaca store and yarn from Plymouth (not alpaca from the farm).
I think Ireland is having a great time looking forward to getting out there and seeing the alpacas.
And finally we left.
Aren't they just valuable? Look at the brown candies... I don't remember their names.
Alpacas are very interesting. There was no need to stroke and massage her, but they kissed. I also learned that alpacas only have lower teeth...no upper teeth...which is very interesting.
The black guy below is Máximo... I remember his name. He was interested in the smell of Irish hair. They are very sensitive animals. I think there are 45 to 50 alpacas on the farm.
I think Ireland is happier with goats... it's been longer than that. I love taking him to new places to practice new things.
After we left the farm, we decided to go to the market and eat at Bonnie's house. We took the Blue Ridge Parkway portion of the route. We like to walk in winter... Here's a sneak peek. (I wish I had a camera)

I hope I can go back and get some natural fiber from your alpacas (I don't know why I didn't buy them)... and maybe I can learn.
