Our Visit to an Alpaca Farm
On Sunday we went to the peaceful heartland of the alpacas in Fancy Gap, Virginia. It is an alpaca farm with a wool shop. I liked this photo and had to share it first.
The other section of the store is stocked with alpaca yarn and alpaca yarn (not the alpaca from the farm).
I think Ireland is having a great time, can't wait to get out there and see the alpaca.
And we finally got out
Aren't they just gorgeous? Look at the beautiful brunette... I don't remember all their names.
Alpacas are curious. They did not care much about being kissed and kissed but kissed. I also learned that alpacas only have lower teeth...no buds...very interesting
The black below is Maximus... I remember his name. He wanted to smell Irish hair. They are good animals. I think there are 45 to 50 alpacas on the farm.
I think Ireland likes goats better...they were so big. I love taking her to new places to see new things.
After leaving the farm, we decided to drive over to Bonnie to shop and eat. We participate in the Blue Ridge Parkway. We like to walk in the winter... The view below is from a single point of view. (I really wish I could find my camera)
If you think about what I bought, you will say:
I started with the Irish scarf in pink.
and this calendar
Visit the site to learn more about Charla, Linda, Mike and David. They manage the farm, store it and house different departments throughout the year.
I hope to go back and buy some natural fiber from their Alpaca box (not sure why I didn't)...and maybe take a class.
