Stripey Hanging Basket
Can you believe I'm finally posting the blueprint for this basket? I use it to hold down all those hexagons I knitted a while ago.
Okay...let's get to the good part.
materials
combed yarn
I used Lion Brand Vanna's Choice. Obviously I used different colors. For some colors I used Vanna's Choice Baby.
G size hook
thread needle
Routes used
string
column without sketch
outline column
slip seam
Column foot with sketch
Vertical columns without sketch
invisible connection
Standing SS: Begin this stitch with a slipknot. ME, then insert the hook into the eye. I and cross the street. ME and works like a regular DC. Pull firmly on the starting line. You will knit it later.
Standing Sc: Start with a slipknot, then insert the hook into YO and cross the street. continue yarn overs through both loops, making RLS. Pull firmly on the starting line. You will knit it later.
These two paths may seem confusing at first. You will basically get rid of the chains.
no matter the caliber
If you weave loosely, you'll get more from me. work a little hard
Sample
part 4
Step 1: Slip 9 dc into the fourth chain from the hook. 3 missed chain stitches are counted as the first row of VP. Join SL. (10sn)
Row 2: ch 3. (Counts as the first cycle). dc in same st, dc 2 in every st around. Attach to invisible connection method. (20°)
Step 3: When changing colors, use the constant column method with a constant column for the first cycle. DC on the same street. DC on the next street. (2 dc, dc) in a circle. Join using the invisible connection method. (30°)
Using the DC method and invisible links, you can start each new round at any time. I started each round in a different place in my basket... just to make sure everything went well.
For the next rounds, remember DC and the invisible link.
Row 4: (ch 2, ch 2 on the next 2 sts) in the round. (40°)
Row 5: (ch 2, ch in the next 3 sts) in the round. (50°)
Row 6: (ch 2, ch in the next 4 sts) in the round. (60°)
Row 7: (ch 2, ch in the next 5 sts) in the round. (AD 70)
Row 8: (ch 2, ch on the next 6 sts) in the round. (80°)
Row 9: (ch 2, ch on the next 7 sts) in the round. (90cc)
Now the background is ready. You will have 90 AD
Step 11: Change colour, knit under both loops (as usual), start with permanent VP method. SSN at all times. Join the invisible link.
Rounds 12-28: repeat round 11.
Row 29: Change colors and use the permanent single crochet method first. RLS in the next 44 centuries. Ch 22, sc in next ch and on remaining ch round. Do not participate and do not finish.
Row 30: 1 loop in each loop and air. I tied this circle tight enough to take the top off a bit.
It ends with an invisible link.
Knit all ends with a wool needle.
Now you can hang it or sit on the bottom. I have a lot of threads left after finishing this project. I use my leftovers to make squares and hexagons.
Leave me a comment if you have any questions. I will do my best to answer. I am working hard to improve this.
If you decide to do it, please share. I'll share the Ravelry schematic soon.
