Vacation

In the last week of July we got in the car and just walked. We have neither discussed nor planned. We asked for a vacation a week ago. I even forgot to bring my camera. So all the photos taken are iPhone photos. After driving all day, we ended up in Florida.

This is Summer Harbor Beach. It is about 15 minutes south of St. Agustini. We found a beach hut that took us half a day to find as it was the highlight of the beach season. The great thing about this place is the privacy. We hate crowded beaches and this place was perfect as there are only a few villas a few miles away. We had everything to ourselves for 6 days.

We drove back to St. Louis. Luis one evening. Augustine and Salt Life Food Shack prove to be quite good food and seafood. This is the lucky captain

Ireland and I wanted to visit the dolphins and drove to Marineland, which was only two miles from our cabin. He is very excited

I have mixed feelings about such places. I hate to see wildlife in captivity and I wish these precious dolphins had more space to live and swim than we could see during this experience. Our dolphin Tomo, he is one of the youngest boys. He is a sweet child and looks happy. I allow myself to have fun even though I have mixed feelings.

We also took a trolleybus tour through the historic city of St. Augustine. It must be the most beautiful city I have ever seen.

We spent our last day at Ripley’s and then at the lighthouse because I love them .

And then to the beach

Our last day was perfect ... I did not even want to think about leaving, which was strange considering the longing for home for the last 2 days.

I have not done much in recent weeks. The Boy Scout season starts again, so I try to prepare for it. The next post is about crochet ... I have some patterns I want to share ... it's in the book that will be out next month.
