Vacation

In the last week of July we got in the car and drove off. We had no reservations or plans. We asked for a week off before work. I even forgot to take my camera with me. So all the photos taken are iPhone images. After driving all day we arrived in Florida.

This is Haven's summer beach. It is about 15 minutes south of St. Augustine. We found a hut on the beach, it took us half a day to find it because the bathing season is excellent. The wonderful thing about this place is its seclusion. We hate crowded beaches and this place is great as there are only a handful of cabins within miles. For 6 days we had everything to ourselves.

One evening we went back to S. Augustine Beach and sampled a salt pot with amazing seafood and drinks. He's a happy captain.

Ireland and I wanted to visit dolphins so we moved to Marinland just two miles from our cabin. She is very excited.

In such places I have different feelings. I hate seeing wild animals in captivity and I hope these precious dolphins have more space to live and swim than we have ever known. Our dolphin was Tome and he was one of the smallest there. He was a very nice guy and seemed happy. Despite my mixed feelings, I enjoyed it.

We also have the historic Old Town Trolley in St. Louis. Visits from Augustine. It has to be the most beautiful city I've ever seen.
