Ireland's Scarf
If you read the last post you will remember that I started with 4 scarves last week. I showed 3 photos but not 4. My granddaughter from Ireland recently asked me to make her a scarf. Last week she saw me start all these scarves and decided she wanted one too. Hence the number 4 is called the Irish sash. I have a lovely raspberry yarn which I thought would suit her well.
After I finished, I showed him and he said "I don't want pink, I want red!"
Ok great...so I went to my LYS yesterday and bought it in a bright red. So now this scarf is mine. It's a bit short but I'll add a few lines and maybe some fringe and it should work fine :)
Ireland asked for a "No Holes" scarf, so I used a very simple stitch. I'm kinda tired of using double middles...and I don't even want to use singles. So I opted for the extended units. I really like it Create a simple yet modern look.
I promised to write the plan... so here it is
Ingredients
Ugly yarn for baby skin 1, 2 for adults (I used to cook on raspberries)
Hook size H Edit: I used a needle
thread the needle
Cut
children (adults)
Evaluation

model
point explanation
Single crochet extension (esc): Insert the hook in the MOF indicated, make a yarn over, a dc above the yarn, pull 1 dc above the hook, pass the yarn, 2 dc above the hook.
Ch 124 (180) I made another one and 124 might be a bit smaller
Row 1: Escape from hook to 2nd ch. Escape every cat. F1, turn.
Row 2: Escape every st. F1, turn.
Repeat row 2 for a total of 10 (14) rows. Complete.
The action ends.
You can widen the scarf by adding more rows.
Modify it by replacing the esc path with the dc path. You can easily make this pattern more interesting or to your liking.
