Life outside of crocheting
Obviously, I very rarely blog lately. I didn't do much either, by any means. Of course I wanted to, but I decided not to. Other things have grown in importance over the last six months or so.I was reading a blog recently and noticed a habit I had from the beginning. I'm pretty sorry. I apologize for not posting or reading enough of my friends' blogs, or creating new trading patterns. I've decided not to apologize much from now on. There are things that take up a lot of my time in my life and I don't think I have the time or the means to access blogs for everything else. I want my daughter to grow in her life and know that I was present in all the activities she chose. I don't want to look back and think, “My mom didn't do anything but sit on the couch and argue. Don't get me wrong, I love crafting the most. But I never found the balance. In fact, my priority is to be present and active in family life. So, I want to talk a bit about what I've been up to over the past few months. I have to say that even though I didn't get as many points as possible, I'm happy and proud of what I achieved.
Last year, at the start of the school year, Ireland decided to join the Girl Scouts... but there was a big problem. There were no brownie troupes around us. There was a group of cadets there, and the troop commander told me that if Mother didn't come forward and form a new division, Ireland would have no troops. So guess... you've become the chef of a whole new batch of daisies, brownies and cubs. Junior retired, so Daisy/Brownie became a saleswoman. From September to the end of the school year, we organize meetings, events and cookies. Ireland and the other girls had a great time.
Here are my girls... are they pretty? I love them.
We had cookies this winter
He won fun badges and ribbons.
We also went to the movies, trampoline park, pizza and more. We'll see The Secret Life of Pets in a few weeks. We will have an exploration period until September.
Ireland also joined the county swimming team. She's always been a pool girl, so I thought she'd like to be on the team.
I think it's fun, but he looks upset if he doesn't finish first or second. Remind him that to improve as a swimmer, you need to study harder and improve your time. But I think there is nothing more motivating than winning. It's hard to work all day, try to go to the pool 4 days a week and end up out of town, but the season ends in 2 weeks.
that's what I do. I wish I could crochet or score more, but I'm happy with what I want to do.
I'm still wearing the same pair of socks I posted about 2 months ago. I am also working on a hanging basket pole. will arrive soon. I promise no more, but thanks to the collaboration with Lion Brand, I am motivated to finish this post. I'm so excited because I love LBY and use it a lot.
Have a nice week end!
