Just Another Sock Monkey Hat Pattern
All week I wanted to write about my life's interest and anything that I hadn't crochet-related. But I understand one thing... my life is pretty boring. I have nothing to blog. I'm on Twitter and I only talk about crochet. I really need life I think :D
With that in mind, I decided to release my own Sock Monkey hat sampler. I used another pattern to make this hat and it turned out fine. But this time I decided to make this hat with a new pattern. I love my little labels and the way things are done.
Ingredients
1 skein of loose yarn (I used Jiffy Lion Brand yarn in Camel Spray)
Red, white and a little black wire
Work sizes H and I.

The photo size is suitable for ages 4-12.
This pattern is easy to modify to any size
I use bulk weight. If you decide to go with combed beans, you will get a small or small hat
I forgot to pick up the daisies before shipping but the weave was a bit tight. If you work more freely, this hat is suitable for adults.

Hooked and White, Chapter 3

articulate. (48cc).
Circle 7:2 NW, HF in same paragraph, h in next 5 sts (2 sts in next paragraph, paragraphs in next 5 sts) approx. articulate. Complete. (56m).
Circle 8: Using red, sew 2 sts and vp. 2. Hdc in next paragraph and all paragraphs around. Complete.
Rnd 9: Using camel stitch with sl st and ch 2. Hdc in next st and each st around. Connect with mc.
Series 10-17: 2 vp., vp. in each surrounding paragraph, connect with sn. don't finish

1 the same paragraph and in the next 10 paragraphs turn (11 sbn)
1 tsp, 2 tbsp together, nabn in next 9 tbsp, twist (10 tbsp)
1 tsp, 2 tbsp together, nabn in next 8 tbsp, twist (9 tbsp)
Repeat this subtraction method until you are done sewing.

Holding the RS beanie, jump 17m from the first row of newly made earmuffs.
Sew with sn. and 1 tbsp. in the same paragraph and for the next round 10. (11 Mb).
Work on this group first, but don't finish when you've completed the last row.
You will work in the round in dc all over the hat. Place 11 balls evenly on each side of the ear and 3 balls in each corner. Complete.
Thread the red yarn through each corner, leaving the tail long enough to use as part of the braid. Work some DC around the lid. Don't forget to put 3 SBN in each corner. Finish by leaving the tail long enough to use as part of the braid. (I like the way the weaving ends)

Make a pompom and sew it on the hat.
Using the photo as a reference, sew the eyes and mouth to the hat. When sewing, sew only the top layer of the seam on the hat so that the back looks nice and neat.
Using red, put a smile on the funnel. I played it several times to make it look like what I wanted. I did this after everything was sewn in place. I pushed each end of my tail into the bottom of the camel's hat. (If you don't like this method, you can always sew a smile on with a yarn needle. In the photos of Ireland on the hat, there is a smile sewn on like this. Then I took it out and I 've used a uni stitch to make it smooth and clean)
