Just Another Sock Monkey Hat Pattern
All week I wanted to write about my life interests and all the interesting things I do that don't involve hate. But I understand one thing... my life is pretty boring. I have nothing to blog about. I'm on Twitter and I'm just talking about hate. I really need life, I think :D
With that in mind, I decided to post my Sock Monkey hat pattern. I used other designs to make these hats and they all came out great. However, this time I decided to make this hat with a completely new pattern. I love my labels and the way I do things.
material
1 thick yarn (I used Jiffy from Lion Brand in Camel Spray)
Red, white and some black thread
Brackets size H and I.
thread needle
2 buttons

The size in the photo is suitable for 4-12 years old child.
This template is easily editable to fit any size.
I used heavy weights. If you choose to use the weight of the comb, you will end up with a baby beanie or toddler beanie.
I forgot to take a meter before sending, but I'm working hard. If you knit more freely, then the hat will suit an adult.
Sample
Crochet and white, Ch 3
Row 1: 7 sc in 3rd sc from hook (which is 1st sc) Join with sc to top of first st. (8 HDCs)
Row 2: ch 2 (here and everywhere, count as the first loop). CDU on the same street. 2 pscn in each st in a circle. Join MC. (16 HDCs)
Rnd 3: Ch 2. Hdc on the same street, hdc on the next street. (2 psn in the next st, psn in the next st) in a circle. Join MC. (24hdc).
Row 4: 2 sts, st on the same st, st on the next 2 sts. (2 pounds in the next st, but in the next 2 kidneys) in a circle. Join MC. (32hdc).
Row 5: 2 sts, st in the same st, st in the next 3 sts. (2 sts in the next st, but the next 3 sts) in a circle. Compound. (40 xd).
Row 6: Ch 2, but in the same st, but in the next 4 sts (2 sts in the next st, but in the next 4 sts).
Compound. (48 cc).
Row 7: 2 sts, st on the same st, st on the next 5 sts. (2 sc in the next st, sc in the next 5 st) in a circle. Compound. End. (56 m).
Row 8: Use red, work sc and 2 sc. Hdc on the next street and on every street around. End.
Row 9: Use camel, work sc and 2 sc. Hdc on the next street and on every street around. Join MC.
Turns 10-17: 2 ch, stbn in each st in a circle, connect sbn. Don't finish.

1 sbn, sbn in the same thread and turn the next 10 st (11 sbn)
1 sc, 2 sc tog, sc in next 9 sts, turn (10 sc)
1 sc, 2 sc together, sc in next 8 stitches, turn (9 sc)
Repeat this decreasing method until you have completed a full stitch.
2nd headset
Hold the hat and skip 17 stitches from the first row of the fin you just made.
Pair of SS and 1 shell. Cast on the same loop and turn the next 10 tbsp. (11 ms).
Work this flap in the same way as the first, but do not finish when you finish the last row.
You will make a circle all over the hat. Distribute 11 sc evenly on the sides of each ear and 3 sc in each corner. End.
Tie each corner with red wire, leaving a ponytail long enough to be used as part of a braid. Knit a row of dc across the entire hat. Don't forget to put 3 sc in each corner. Finish by leaving the ponytail long enough to be used as part of the braid. (I like the ways to eliminate texture dots)

Chapter 14
Row 1: Sc in ch 2 from the hook, SC in the next 11 ch, 3 SC in the last ch. Work on the other side of the chain, sc in the next 11 sc. 2 sc in the last c. Do not attach.
Round 2: 2 sc in first st, sc in next 11 sts, 2 sc in each of next 3 sts. RLS in the next 12 tbsp. 2 sc in next st, don't attack.
Row 3: 2 sc in the first stitch, sc in the next 14 stitches. 2 stbn in the next 3 stbn, stbn in the next 14 tbsp. 2 stbn in the next st, stbn in the last st.
Using my favorite branding liner, leave a ponytail long enough to be sewn on. (Refer to the chunky hat tutorial for finishing)

Switch to hook H and connect 2 strands of camel spray. Knit tight
Chapter 3
Row 1: 7 sc in 3rd sc from hook, turn. (8 HDCs)
Row 2: 2 sts, st in first st, 2 st in each st. (16 HDCs)
Finish by leaving the ponytail long enough to work on.
weaving
Cut nine threads on each side. You should already have 1 thread (beginning and end with a cross) for one side.
Make a pom pom and sew it over the hat.
Use the photos as a guide and sew the eyes and mouth onto the hat. When sewing, simply thread the top layer of hat stitches to keep the back neat.
Use red and put a smile on the mouthpiece. I played it several times to make it look the way I wanted. I did this after everything was sewn in place. I tucked each point of the tail into the bottom of the camel's hat. (If you do not like this method, you can always sew on a smile with a woolen needle. In the photographs of Ireland in a hat, the smile is sewn on exactly like this. Smooth and clean)
